28. Make/Bake some sweets for Valentine’s Day.

Hey guys, this blog is all about

a compilation of some of my desserts

during Valentine’s. I’m a culinary

student and being a fan of anime

helps me to be more creative. This

sweets are made by me, of course

with various collaborations with my

classmates, but unfortunately I can’t

mention them here. These desserts

aren’t perfect but we can’t deny the

fact that they are beautiful. Some of

them are inspired by anime but I also

shared the not related one to share

more desserts.

Pastiera Napoletana

Pastiera Napoletana is typically

Neapolitan tart made with cooked

wheat, eggs, ricotta and orange

flower water. I’m not pretty sure

about this story but I heard it from

someone, they said that Pastiera

was probably invented in a Neapolitan

convent when a nun wanted a cake

that symbolises the resurrection with the

perfume of the flower of oranges that

grew in the convent’s garden. They

eventually came up with the idea of

mixing together the wheat and ricotta

then she added some eggs, then the

fragrance of the flower and so on.

Some people such as the older, they

just mix the wheat, ricotta and eggs

together but nowadays some people

adds pastry cream to make the

pastiera softer. This is basically

one of anime based desserts I’ve

ever made, I saw it and it got my

attention so I decided to try it.

Making this dessert is pretty much

a bit annoying for the fact that my

culinary professor is a Neapolitan

and I have this pressure that this

pastiera should taste like his hometown’s

PASTIERA NAPOLITANA. But it ended

up great, we enjoy this dessert not

just because of its taste but also

of its story and the logic of its

ingredients together because it

creates a great harmony.

Bignè : Choux Pastry

Choux Pastry (Bignè) is a delicate

pastry dough that is made with butter,

flour, water and eggs. It is used to

make eclair, profiteroles, craquelin,

etc. This pastry doesn’t have any

chemical raising agent to make it puff,

instead it uses air and moisture

trapped in the dough to rise (water

and eggs) so that’s why if you open

the oven when they aren’t still cooked

very well inside, they will collapse.

Just like what happened here in Yumeiro

Patisserie, when Ichigo excitedly opened

the oven without any idea that it might

collapse because it wasn’t totally cooked

still. If the Choux pastry will loss that

puff it’ll change its texture, it might be

soggy and not that firm.

And yes, this is also an anime based

dessert. When I was on my 6th grade,

me and my bestfriend was pretty

influenced by Yumeiro Patisserie to

the point that we wanted to go in Paris

and be pastry chefs. So when I moved

here in Italy, I finally had the chance to

make Choux Pastry to show her, she

didn’t chose culinary school as I did,

she eventually changed her mind into

a med tech which I’m very happy she

did something that she really is

ionate with.

Semifreddo alla pesca

Semifreddo is a light semi-frozen

Italian dessert that is actually very

similar to ice cream and mousse,

semifreddo means ‘half cold’ or

‘half frozen’. Its main ingredients

are egg yolks, sugar and cream.

This isn’t totally an anime based

but it really gives me Yumeiro Patisserie

vibe, the idea came up to me naturally

(without bragging myself lol) thanks to

Yumeiro. Weird fact, I’m not fond of

making desserts but I like what I’ve

created. I prefer the heat and the fire,

the burns.

Semifreddo alla pera e mou

This semifreddo is just the same thing

as the first one. But I would say that I

love this dessert more, because this is

:sparkles: ART :sparkles: . I really don’t have any idea

of how I came up with this idea, but the

last thing I know is that I know where

exactly every single omponents would

need to be placed, such us the chocolate

that turned this whole thing into something

very artistic lmao.

Cheesecake & Chocolate Cake

with chantilly cream

These desserts instead, are one of my

favourites. I made this for my little sister’s

birthday, and yes I made two cakes for

her ‘coz why not. The cheesecake on

the left side is basically a classic

cheesecake, it’s just that I added

berries gel on the top and also some

fresh fruits fo garnish. Meanwhile on

the right one, I made a Chocolate Cake

with chantilly cream, it was a 3 layered

cake with chocolate ganasce and cacao

butter cream.
