This post will explain Amino’s policy for underage s as well as what this specific community’s policy is with underaged s!

Amino’s Age Policy

The age limit for creating and using an on Amino is 13 years old or above.

Why?

“The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires that online service providers obtain parental consent before they knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from children who are under 13.”

Maturity has nothing to do with it. So, if you are underage but think “I’m mature enough to be here though-“ it doesn’t matter. Legally, Amino is not allowed to collect data on you.

This Amino’s Policy

If we find a member that is underaged, we will report them to Team Amino for their to be deleted and then ban them from this Amino.

All other Aminos are required to do this as well, so you will not be able to ever return to your favorite Amino communities if you are underage and all of your content will be gone. This is why I urge you to follow my advice in the next section.

My Advice If You Are Underage

If you are 12 years old or under and don’t want to risk all of your content getting deleted and never being able to return to your favorite Amino communities, the best thing to do is copy all of your posts or other content and put them somewhere safe on your device. Then, delete your and make a new one once you are 13 years old.

I know this sounds like a big ask, but this rule is in place for your own safety, and being “mature enough” to be here has nothing to do with that.
