What is that we long for when we feel pain?

We rarely long for cold when we're in the rain

We have plenty of it, who are we to complain

We drown, while others are dry night and day

Scars make us feel

Scars after bliss, and

Why when we suffer, we long to be dead?

Why long for blue skies, when you've plenty of red?

It all feels the same, you should wish for instead

Accept where you are, take back what you've said

No feelings, no heart, no heart means no soul

Take pride we must drink, we're not fueled by oil

We are not made of steel, skin made forever cold

Unfeeling and thoughtless, forevermore

Though life is so fleeting, though life is so tough

I've felt light and heavy, I've seen more than enough

Redemption is real, perfect disillusionment rough

No man will be saved, but there still can be love

The city never sleeps, the Grim forever reaps

No man bring upon the judgment that he seeks

No man'll outrun it, however strong, however meek

I've seen the bloated fall just as hard as the weak

Scars that you can't see, scars you'll only sense

Scars that you'll the how, the what, the when

No vision is required, see the danger that you're in

The beauty is in all, you must take a moment to listen

Scars on your spirit, scars in your skin

Your bones may never show the danger you're in

No matter the pain, the solution's within

Satisfaction, illusion, or just plain drunken sin

We all have solutions we believe they are best

We believe, in all things, we are more than the rest

The bullets and blood we spill from East to West

Though I try, I can't stop everyone, so go ahead, be my guest

Everyday you make a choice

You decide how loud you make your voice

Whether you listen to your heart

Or decide that crying ain't for boys

The Scars are not for crying

The Scars are not for dying

The Scars show you've been trying

With Scars, you aren't lying.
