Are YouTube aminos even helpful for reliable growth anymore? Hear me out on this one.

This will be quite the post so if you care about this topic then stick around.

First who am I to ask this question? Well I’m Sharky I’ve had Amino for about 3 years. I’ve been active on it for the first yeah and half then stopped to focus on other things. More about me later

Now I bring up the question, are youtube aminos helpful for reliable growth. The fact of the matter is your content needs views to gain subs. YouTube aminos around the first year or so seemed like a great place to not only get your content in front of new eyes but to also see other content and potentially make collaborations and such.

I actually made a video back in early 2019 addressing the issues I had with yt aminos. If you are interested in checking out that video here’s a Link   But back to the post.

Out of the time I spent on Amino I want to say I grew around maybe 200-250 subs for about 1.5 years of posting. Then I stagnated at 500 for a few months. This is when I left Amino for around 7 months. I came back with this post post in a attempt to help people with content creation as I saw a major increase in growth when I left. Here were the current analytics of my channel at the time of coming back the first time “I have 862 subs currently. It the last 28 days my channel has gained 65 subs, 2.6k views, and 12.1k minuets of watch time. For the last 10 videos I average 222 views”

Definitely a notable change from when I left. However I came back I offered to help people kinda get on the path I took (all though my path can’t be copied) and help them grow their channels. This in my opinion is the best utilization of yt aminos. The problem with this however was I was the only one giving . I wasn’t receiving any in return. So around March of this year I left again.

Today is my first day back in nearly 6 months and looking at the aminos it just seems like there is almost no point in me or really anyone to continue to use this. The only motivation I might have to get content in front of 10-20 eyes and try to offer help to others.

In the 6 months I disappeared my analytics drastically increased! I would still like to help people out but I feel like it will all be in vain. For perspective in the last 28 days my channel has gained 423 subs, 30.9k views, 248k minuets of watch time. In the last 10 videos my views averaged 2878 views. That is over 500% increase in all areas!

Leading this back to my main point. I still would like to help people get better at content creation but seeing how yt aminos are dying and there isn’t a collective discord server that has decent amount of activity this might be in vain. So next week I might make another post offering help to a few people in most of yt aminos and see if a small community of creators helping each other improve can be done.

Would like to hear some thoughts on this.

I think I get views, but not subscribers. I think that has more to do with my content not being something a lot of Amino s look for on YouTube.
