[prelude] to an ASTRAL LOVE STORY : Beyond the Red Door

Once upon a time, I had a shared dream experience with my best friend.

I was twelve and I it like it was yesterday..

Long before the internet (as it is today) and cell phones (as they are today) - there were these things called land lines .. and I had my own phone number - so me and my best bud were always on the phone - talking Trek (Star), prank calling peeps - you name it - we talked on the phone a lot.

One night we hung up and as usual, fell asleep -

As I entered a dream I was floating in space towards a red door :door:

As I approached the door I saw my friend - he was floating towards it too.

It was very unusual for me to have a dream with my friend in it - to the best of my memory - this was the only one I ever had with him.

Back to the door - there we stood - Twilight Zone style - looking at the door in wonder. From the other side it sounded as though there was loud music playing and as if a party was going on.

I of course being the inquisitive curious Merlin that I am - knocked upon the door.

My friend was scared and so was I .. until the door opened.

Standing before us was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen - she was several years older than I and had black medium length hair and bangs, crazy dark eye makeup and she was wearing a black stylishly ripped t-shirt that fell off one of her shoulders.

She was a stunning gothic creature unlike anything I had ever experienced and of course when she invited us in - my friend and I both like to get caught in the doorway trying to get there first.

On the inside of whatever this door led to was indeed a giant party taking place.

Colored flashes of light and deep bass filled the darkly lit room with an almost perfect house party ambiance (at least to a 12 year old kid who had never been to a house party - not this kind anyway).

To make a really long story short - we found ourselves sitting with the girl and her friends on a big half circle, pin-cushion leather sofa, when suddenly my friend said that he didn’t feel so well.

When I looked up I saw the strangest thing - particle by particle - he was disintegrating into thin air - as if he was made of sand and gently being blown away.

I jumped up and asked,

“what’s happening to him?!”

✮ ⋆ ˚｡𖦹 ⋆｡°✩

That’s about when our dark haired female friend grabbed me by my arms and looked deep into my eyes while smiling calmly and said..

“Don’t be afraid, he’s just waking up”.

I was scared and extremely alarmed and continued to question the girl .. when out of nowhere .. I heard a loud ringing sound - the girl tried to keep my attention but as she did the roof of the inside of the place we were in started to brighten ..until - I was in my room - waking up - my phone was ringing…

I groggily answered - it was my friend … the first words that came out of his mouth…

“I just woke up from the strangest dream I’ve ever had - you were in it - we were at this party”

True story.
