Recently in an unexpected way a kestrel has entered my life.
I’m currently part time studying falconry with my grandfather, and was out flying our pair of Harris hawks when one of them flew off and dive bombed some prey. This isn’t unusual in its self, they are used occasionally for hunting rabbit, and currently baby rabbits start venturing outside. Yet upon catching up with Kera the hawk we noticed it wasn’t a rabbit, but in fact a young kestrel!

He’s currently being looked after by us, hoping he’ll regain his ability to fly so we can release him, but after posting the story on Facebook a friend prompted me to look into kestrel animal totems. What I found surprisingly fit in where I am currently kind mindset wise.
Kestrels as animal totems can indicate indecision about taking a job or new direction in life, indicating that you’re ‘hovering’ for a perfect opportunity. Call upon the kestrel may help you see a clearer picture of the path you should take.
Kestrel guides in general appear in times when you struggle a lot with concentration, organisation, time management, and uncontrollable energy.
This all particularly resonates with me currently. As someone woke dyspraxia it’s no surprise I’ve struggled with organisation and time management, but I’m not sure what route I want to take in life currently. I’m surrounded by so much opportunity, yet still am struggling to pick the correct path, afraid I’ll regret later!
What do you guys think? Have you had any animals with significants come into your lives recently?
Thanks for reading!
