Good morrow my fellow witches, alterhumans, and pagans. I go by the alias Salem (She/They) and I am a novice practitioner with an innate interest in research and study towards the Occult. As of now, I am undergoing the research of the Norse people and how they lived their lives during the Viking Age which is essential for my development as a norse pagan. Accompanied by a good friend of mine to this Clan, I am excited to share my experiences and participate in the Hatchling Clan’s activities.

My craft fluctuates and changes ever so slightly, but remains on the middle path. I will indulge in darker magick for my own self interests and use my blood to bind sigils and charms to myself. However, I will also bring to light more selfless magick to help boost others and to bite back at those who deserve it. My younger sister and I practice witchcraft together and when it comes down to rituals and preparation, my basic knowledge on kitchen witchcraft leads us to have a good before-craft meal.

On a more personal standpoint, I am aware of who I am and have incorporated parts of the self into my own work. I am self-indulgent and wild like a visit to a bar with work friends, I become calm and wistful like the wise, watchful owls of the cascade mountains for those I hold dear, and I am as vengeful and nasty as the bite of a pack of ravenous wolves. These sides of me have manifested as thoughtforms through a practice that undergoes the name daemonism and originates from a novel series known as “His Dark Materials.”

In addition, I engage in totemism and have discovered my totem to take the form of a German shepherd. I am playful and obedient, but I have a strong sense of self respect, justice, and I am aware of my bite. However, the shepherd is not without her sheep. While the sheep is often seen as meek and frightful, easy to direct and turn, my head is adorned with a crown of horns and the sheer, noble determination gives it reason to be. By soul and daemon, I am the fury of the wolf, wisdom of the owl, nobility of the big horned sheep, and the justice of the shepherd.
