Summary

Yarrow is a studious and creative girl who wants to be a Pokémon professor. Her speciality would be how Pokémon interact and adapt to their environments. Though she’s friendly enough, she’s a loner and has a hard time keeping friendships with people. She’s much more comfortable with the company of Pokémon but eventually she’s hoping to break out of her comfort zone and not get too overwhelmed hanging out with her human friends.

Backstory

Yarrow’s parents are separated with her dad living in Alola and her mom living in Medali, Paldea. She stayed primarily with her dad so that she could attend the Pokémon School on Melemele Island, and would stay with her mom over the summer. Some of her friends she made at the Pokémon school included Ilima, Lillie, Mina, and Lana. However, her custody arrangement recently flipped so she could arrange Naranja Academy in order to become a Pokémon professor of ecology with Jacq serving as her mentor. However, most of her mentor work has consisted of being his TA. But after Jacq got called as a League Coach to the Blueberry Academy, Yarrow has gotten the opportunity to do some field work in the school’s famous terrarium.

Yarrow’s trusted starter that she received from her fighting type enthusiast dad. Mulan is a very disciplined and assertive Pokémon who always has Yarrow’s back. However, Mulan can get quite overprotective of Yarrow when other people try to get close to her; this issue doesn’t seem to happen with other Pokémon.

A gift Pokémon from her friend Ilima after his study abroad in Kalos. Domino is a very lax Pokémon thats always going with the flow. He’s a bit of a pushover, and when the other people get up to trouble Domino is always willing to in. Even though Domino is very chill, he is also very smart but he doesn’t do too much with it preferring a life of leisure.

Smeargle

While looking for inspiration on Melemele’s Route 2, Yarrow came across a curious Smeargle. They were able to gain inspiration from each other and he became part of the team. Picasso is a very curious creature that is always looking to try new things for inspiration, unfortunately this has gotten him into plenty of sticky situations.

Encountered on Paldea’s Glaseado Mountain, Yarrow found a Snover following her around while she was observing the mountain’s wildlife. She held a picnic with him and the friendly Snover meshed well with the team so she decided to bring him along. Since then, Noel has grown into a total gentle giant. Unfortunately he tends to forget his size with his affection causing unwanted damage.

Altaria

After taking a flying taxi to Alfornada, Paldea; Yarrow decided that it’d probably be for the best if she found a ride Pokémon to help her traverse the region. While observing the local Pokémon she saw a storm of Altaria, and after a lightbulb moment she decided that needed one to help solve her conundrum. After several failed attempts resulting in the rest of the Altaria flying away, Yarrow was able to catch a cheerful Altaria she dubbed Lisia (after a contest star she saw on some program once). Lisia is almost always happy and high energy, but can be a bit much to deal with at times because of that.

Excadrill

While exploring the Terrarium’s Chargestone Cavern Yarrow encountered a tough, battle hungry Drilbur. Having never come across one before, Yarrow was very excited and caught him as soon as possible. Being very excited about this new catch she rambled about it to the League Club, leading to Lacey sharing her experience with the Drilbur line and helped with some care tips leading to them getting closer. As for Drillby, he grew into a confident and brave Excadrill but can be quite cocky about his battling abilities. He thinks he’s the leader of the team much to the others chagrin.
