Defining My Path

Witchcraft

I was first introduced to witchcraft/Wicca in 2019 by a friend who had just begun learning about it. They taught me about what they knew about tarot, crystals and moon water, sigils, simple stuff like that.

I consider myself an eclectic witch as I don't feel like I truly follow one "path" in witchcraft. I kinda just do what resonates with me. I use crystals in my everyday life, and stir intentions into my tea and hot chocolate (I can't stand coffee). I work with the moon alot in my craft, as well as candles and using herbs and making sigils. While I cook, whenever I can, I do some kitchen witchin' with the herbs and seasonings I use.

Other interests:

:sparkles: shadow work.          :sparkles: Oracle cards

:sparkles: tarot.                         :sparkles: pendulum divination

Paganism/Polytheism

When I first started learning about witchcraft, I had some interest in learning about the Gods and even took a mythology class my senior year. I loved that, as we learned about so many different pantheons! I didn't really start worshipping any deities until very recently due to being nervous and hesitant because of my upbringing. Now that I've taken that step, though, I'm so happy I did. It's nice to actually feel a connection to who you're worshipping, and I never had that when I was practicing Christianity.

Hellenism/Greek pantheon

The first 2 Goddesses I started worshipping are from the Greek pantheon, I've always felt a connection to the Greek God's and Goddesses even while I was growing up, their stories fascinated me way more than the Bible stories I was being told at church. I have Greek and Roman ancestors as well, though I've followed more of the Greek religion than Roman.

Heathenism/Norse pantheon

As of now, I am learning more about Heathenry (Norse) and how they lived and worshipped. I have very close ancestral ties to vikings from Scandinavia and feel like I'm connecting to my ancestors as I learn about their way of life.

Worshipping:

🌙Lady Hecate🌙

🌙Selene🌙

Favorite thing about my practice

My favorite thing is the freedom. Growing up in a super strict Christian church, I always struggled with not feeling good enough for God. There were so many rules to follow and it got very stressful especially when I really started "rebeling" but then still felt like I had to "put on an act" for my family when we went to church and the temple. I love that I can make my practice what I'm comfortable with. And there's not as much stress on "don't do this don't do that or God won't love you" I feel the love the Gods have for me even if I'm just reading a book about them.

Christianity is for some people. It just was not for me.

Future Goals:

I want to get better at writing things down when I read or learn about them, and give a dedicated journal to each deity. Also need to work on my Book of Shadows.

🪻Currently I'm Researching:

❀Heathenism/Norse pantheon

❀Runes

❀Oracle

❀How to incorporate air and water into my practice

❀Herbs and Foraging for herbs

❀Sabats

Deities I'm interested in:

☆Dionysius

☆Freyja

☆Loki

☆Tyr

☆Óðr

☆Hel

☆Gullveig
