Despite leading them to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years, this wasn't apparently good enough for the New York Knicks to keep their head coach Tom Thibodeau for the foreseeable future as they announced recently of his dismissal after 5 seasons.
So, what's your take on the Knicks firing Tom Thibodeau? Deserved or nah? Whatchu got?

I feel like he’s more of a assistant/defensive coordinator than head coach. He still a good coach and didn’t deserve to get fired especially after an ecf appearance for the Knicks in 25 years. Teams are impatient and let fans/players get to them
It’s not a hateful firing by any means but he hinders the ceiling with this group so much. So much offensive output was left on the table all season and he didn’t really elevate anyone’s game, preferred to stay in the iso 1on1 type of slow grind offense with little adjustment. They want a coach who’s gonna have these guys elevating each other because on paper there’s so much wasted talent in a Thibs offense
Not to mention the whole overwork thing, which has been the trend of his coaching, so he definitely paid the price not just in New York but also in Chicago and Minnesota.

Yeah completely agree. Also held him back because he had never really experimented with rotations and figured out what lineups have what strengths/weaknesses. Defense first lineup particularly in transition could’ve totally changed that pacers series if it was utilized in games 1 and 2
Deserved? Nah
Necessary? Yes
