Now, without further ado,

let’s get into this week’s question:

:eight_pointed_black_star:

Do you have any

must-watch Halloween films?

:eight_pointed_black_star:

⊱ ────────── ⊰

During the times of Halloween,

is there any film that is a must watch?

It could be whatever type of film,

but as long as it gives you a

pleasure or feel of Halloween.

Perhaps it’s one that you

often watched as a kid?

Or a film that you have picked

up in contemporary times.

As long as it’s a tradition of yours,

I would be glad to hear about it!

My answer:

                        Well, there are two.

                        Or three if you will.

Although, “The Exorcist” is a film

I usually kick off the month with

so I doubt if it counts.

Nevertheless there are two films I

try to see during the day of Halloween.

                        And they are of course

                        Carpenter’s “Halloween”

                        and “Suspiria” by Dario Argento.

. ⁺        ⁺       ˚

                        Granted, “Suspiria” is

                        somewhat newer in my tradition.

                        But as for “Halloween”

we have to go way back.

To a time when I was still a kid.

                        I watching it

                        on the very same DVD

                        that I still use today.

                        I mean, “Halloween”

                        is probably the only film

I feel isn't any priority to

                        a blu-ray or anything.

                        The kind of scrappy quality

it makes is simply a joy and

                        moreover enhances the viewing.

                        For “Suspiria” I just love

                        the atmosphere it gives forth.

An ambience that goes very well

                        with Halloween and its spirit.

                        If not the music,

                        the colours alone

                        grips one interest

                        and captures everything.

                        Including the moment itself.

Like also the wacky acting and all,

                        which goes over to

                        the holiday as a whole.

A time that is just funny and amusing,

                        while being totally scary.

                        Not to mention eerie.

                        The cinematography all day.

                        Although the setting and

art direction are just as gripping.

                        It sure offers an inclusion

and it makes you and the audience

feel like you’re being a part of the film.

A wonderful feeling that is in pair

                        with the wondrous of Halloween.

The only horror film that for me is a must watch is A Nightmare On Elm Street the 1984 original version as not only did it give the world Johnny Depp but it's also written and directed by horror legend Wes Craven and gave us a great villain in Freddy Krueger.
