When SF9 competed on the show Kingdom, “Believer” was their final song. They may have scored last place, but they’ll always be first in the hearts of Fantasies everywhere. There are some elements of this song that feel very SF9, but there’s also quite a bit that feels like moving in a new direction. Going into the competition, I think SF9 was the group that needed the challenges that the show would bring. In the end, it forced them to grow and decide what kind of group they want to be in the future. Their final song - “Believer” - touches on that idea, as well. “You make me wanna believe. I won’t give up. I get up again - a new start.” If you think about the song as a message to the fans, there’s a longing for a time coming soon where the group and Fantasies can be together again. “Some say the things I’ve been wishing for are now; I don’t think so. In the distant future” we’ll be together like we used to.

One of the highlights of this song for me, personally, is the fact that Zuho has a rap section in the first verse! They tend to hide Zuho away until the final chorus or the bridge, but here they’ve got him borderline headlining. He’s able to counter Dawon’s soft vocals there at the beginning and drive the sound right into the ground. Another thing I love is how the phrases in the pre-chorus go down to a whisper. Rowoon whisper singing is something we didn’t even realize we were missing in our lives! Now we’ll never have to live without it again. A third moment that I want to highlight is the fact that Hwiyoung’s rap section uses autotune. This is a style we’ve heard from him on solo tracks before and one he got to explore with his unit trio that included The Boyz’s Sunwoo and iKON’s Bobby. I hope we get to hear that style from him more in the future; it brings out a swagger filled side to him that I think we can all get behind.

Overall, I like the energy of this song and I’m curious to hear their new release to see if they follow in the footsteps of this style or go in a different direction!

'love again' is THAT hidden gem of the album, like i literally never see people talk about it and i just have to say its a really good song that shows off how talented our boys are. and that's why im here to appreciate it! its a romantic song, actually an apologetic confession to their lover one and if you can't tell, im a sucker for this type of songs so that's probably one of the main reasons i love this track so much. its has a really nice melody and instrumental which i also love, but the vocals are literally the cherry on top as expected from sf9! i love how they show off their vocal strenght as a group with some rap added that was necessary in my opinion, i just love raps in these types of songs. the few mellow rap lines from zuho, hwi and chani make me really happy for some reason, despite the fact this is some sort of a sad song: 'i apologize/i forgot because of a small misunderstanding/that we should be together' i was really happy to also hear hwi singing in this track rather than rapping, it really melted my heart. sf9 is a group that absolutely never disappoints when it comes to music, like you cannot name one bad song from them. 'love again' overall sounds like a ethereal song with extremely beautiful lyrics and vocals that make everything be ever better than it already is. its a definitely must listen from this album especially. i also really loved the live version of it and definitely recommend checking it out. the pink outfits go so well with that song so watching it gives me butterflies every time istg. also can i say how bad this reminds me of a kdrama ost?? it'd be an amazing one tbh. so this is a beginning to make sf9 sing another drama ost thank you very much. after all sf9 is one all rounder group what else can i say :relieved: :hand: 🏻❣

off my mind is surely an unmatched bside for me coming from sf9. though being a breakup song, the amount of twists and changes they've had in the tuning of the song was enough for me to give it a lot of listens. It was quite unique, and totally suited my taste, with a pinch of the sf9 touch to it. The song opened up with taeyang, and it already won over all my points, but maybe it was also the way it started that had me mesmerised. The diction throughout the song was just so clear, it captured all my attention while the overlap of certain words by the rappers while the vocalists were singing was another beautiful feel to the song, just like at 0.07 and 0.16, a single low toned word was uttered and that left me in complete awe. I especially loved the chorus "haja haja ibyol jom" which translates to "let's break up" and the immediate follow up of the catchy "let me let me let me let me let me, let me go girl now" while the ending word "now" was stretched a little making it sound heavenly to my ears. Jaeyoon totally ate up this song, for all I is only his voice that flowed smoothly through each verse. Not to forget how Zuho came up by the end and had me in shock? The way he spits each word through his rap from 2.16 to 2.23, though so short, it most definitely would have acted as an impactful section to all the listeners! The verse was quickly followed by hwiyoung, who brought it another flow to his rap, so different, yet the music wasn't let down for once. Dawon popped off with his high note at 2.44, well what can the boy not do?? He's incredible. Chani almost comes only by the end, but I suppose putting the rap part at the end really depends on who does it, and sf9 having such amazing rappers pulled it off! one thing about sf9 no one can deny is how strong of a vocal and rap line they have, and giving each person equal chances to shine was another thing I loved while listening to this song. Overall, it is a must listen for the beauty it beholds and the unique style of music sf9 went on with this one. A total banger!

it's been so long since i last listened to this album, but i might say that this is my favourite song next to 'tear drop' as the title track. i mean the song sounds so delicate and graceful while i'm in love with the obvious sensual concept to this. i personally think that listening to this without knowing the lyrics already shares a chic and confident feeling with me, but reading these sexual lyrics only confirms my first reaction. it's in general such a beautiful and elegant song while the melody sounds so mesmerising. i don't really know how to describe this melody, but i'm captivated by how dynamic and smooth it sounds. plus i think that the transitions here sound so fluid while the different layers to this melody leave me so speechless. the level of skill it requires to produce such a delicate and addictive song, is out of this world. besides that the vocals they deliver here sound so clear and powerful as usually. they truly own this sensual concept to their music portrayed in so many unique and different ways next to a few other groups. plus the rapping is included with such smooth transitions while i'm in love with the light and soothing feeling of their rapping. another irable thing about this, is also how their voices once again harmonies so amazingly together while everyone shines so much. i also can't get over the few highnotes we're able to experience while they add a certain feeling of power or rather said confidence to this. in the end it's such a memorable and beautiful song, i can only recommend to everyone to check it out

Contrary to their serious and mature "turn over", "hey hi bye " is quite on the bright and playful side that lets the album end in more lighter vibes and a mood switch. While some are not liking it, i am quite happy to get this track as it reminds me of their debut tracks and also showcases some amazing vocals and rap verses. Immediately i was shocked by hwiyoung's smooth start, the slight auto tune used did not feel weird , loved how it smoothly transitioned to heart fluttering vocals. This pop track includes some fantastic falsettos by the vocal gang, especially taeyang ,jaeyoon and dawon. The lighter snaps and snares during thd pre-chorus lead to a good build up. i love the melody of the chorus, its catchy. Particularly the "la la la " part. Ok, but DAWON AND ZUHO POPPED OFF. That growl-like rap from zuho switched up the song after the first chorus. And the whole ending verse, the adlibs and high note by dawon blew my mind away. Like finally he got a chance to sing his heart out. So quite happy with the line distribution for vocal parts. As for rappers, what happened to hwiyoung and chani's lines lol ? I loved whatever less parts they had though. The live stage is also fun and lively to watch. The jacket choreo reminded me of "easy love ". Over all, a peppy number that will bring a smile on your face.
