[Hello HBA]

It's time for another quick PSA, and this time it's about… advertising on HBA!

So regardless of whether you're a member here or if you're a visiting member of another amino's advertisment team, we ask you to please read through this post carefully!

[1. What is advertising]

Generally speaking, the definition of advertising is the promotion of any item, platform or similar in a public space, with the goal of either having other people see, or buy the thing you are promoting.

Now it might be confusing at first, so lets let's breifly talk about what counts as advertising here on HBA.

In Amino , advertising includes:

- Any posts promoting other aminos, websites or similar

- Spam-PMing (sending s links or

ment messages per pm)

- Sending ments and/or links

into public chats

- Comments on any post or wall which

include ments or

links

Whilst some forms of ment are strictly forbidden, others can be allowed in certain situations. Whether something is allowed of not usually depends on what type of ment it is.

That being said, on HBA we differenciate between two types of Advertising:

1. Internal Advertising, which is the advertising

  of posts or chats created on this Amino (so

only HBA content)

2. External Advertising, which is the advertising

of anything outside of HBA

Both types of advertising have their own set of rules, which will be explained in the next two sections.

[2. Internal Advertising]

First up, lets talk about Internal Advertising. As previously mentioned, internal advertising is the promotion of any content made on THIS amino.

What is allowed:

- Advertising content made on this amino

in public chats WITH the permission of

the host or a cohost of the public chat

- Giving shoutouts to content made on this

amino within your own posts (as long

as the rest of the post follows all other

posting rules)

- A post advertising an RP chat on HBA as

long as it is detailed and explains the

plot and rules

- Giving Art/Cosplay/Edit/Writing/Idea  

credits (this is not only allowed, its an

absolute must- and here is why)

- Linking/Sharing mod made posts in order

to help other s (Moderation blogs

do not count as advertising)

What is not allowed:

- Advertising content made on this amino

in public chats WITHOUT the explicit

permission of the host or a cohost of

the public chat

- Advertising any content in official chats

- Spaming many s in pm with the links

to posts/asking for likes through pms

or comments

: these set of rules apply to internal advertising only!

[3. External Advertising]

Next, it's time to talk external advertising! As said before, external advertising is the ment of any content outside of this amino! This applies to the advertising of other aminos as well!

Unlike with internal advertising, external advertising is strongly limited on HBA. We have one big rule that applies to ALL forms of external ment.

The Rule:

The advertising of other amimos or any

external platforms is NOT allowed.

Yes, this rule applies absolutely everywhere in this amino. This includes blogs or any other type of posts, any chatrooms, profiles, all comments on posts or profiles and even the shared folder. There are only a few exceptions to the rule in which you don't need a leader's permission which I'm going to list below.

The Exceptions:

- Linking the credit for art/edit/cosplay/

writing/sources (Do not plagiarise,

here's why)

- Sharing your own other social media

s in your bio or at the bottom

of any posts following the guidelines

(although we highly suggest that you

never share any personal s,

or any social media which contains

personal information, and heres why)

- Collaboration events with any other

communities/aminos (for further

information on how to collab with

us see section 5

However in all other cases you absolutely must ask a leader before you . You can read about how exactly to ask a leader, and how to find them, in Section 5 of this blog.

[4. What do I do if someone s?]

What you need to do depends on where exactly the advertising is taking place! Otherwise it's pretty simple, I will spend the next section thoroughly explaining how to do it in each situation!

[A. Posts]

For posts, it's really simple. If you see someone advertising in a blog, all you need to do is...

FLAG!

To flag a blog, press the three dots in the top right corner! Once you've done that, a menu will appear. Press the menu option "Flag for Review"!

Next, select "Off-Topic" as your reason for the Flag. A box will appear in which you can leave a comment. Type "Advertising" or "ment" into the text box, and then submit your flag by pressing "Submit"!

And thats it! The next time a leader checks the Flag Center, they'll see your flag, and disable the advertising post!

[B. Messages]

So for chats it works a little bit differently than for posts. Whilst curators and leaders are the only ones who can disable posts, other s (such as the hosts and cohosts of a chat) can delete messages too. Messages do not show up in the Flag Center after they have been deleted. Which means, sometimes we can't take action against certain s, because the flag and the message are gone!

So if someone s in a chat, please follow the following instructions! :blush:

Firstly- take a screenshot! This is very important! If you have a screenshot, you automatically have proof! This means that even if the message is deleted, you can always prove it happened!

In this example I am using a message sent by pm. However these instructions apply to all chats, including pms, private chatrooms and public chatrooms. Also keep in mind that very device has a different way of screenshoting, so make sure to first find out how to screenshot using your device! The simplest way to find out is to quickly google "how to screenshot on [device name]".

Next, copy the 's link! For those of you who do not know how to do this, here's a quick review:

First, press on the person's profile picture in the chat. A small menu will pop up on the bottom. Press the option saying "Profile".

This will take you to the member's profile. Once on the profile press the three dots in the top right hand corner. This will open another menu, of which one of the options is 'Copy Link". If you click on that, it will automatically copy the 's link!

Once you've got the screenshot and the 's link, pm a leader or curator! To find the s, scroll down the side until you've reached "All ". If you click on that, you will recieve a list of all , with leaders and curators listed at the top!

And lastly, if it's in a public chatroom, ask the host or cohost to delete the message! If you're a host or cohost yourself then delete the message asap, after making sure someone has the previous steps!

[5. Community Collaborations]

As said in the section about External advertising, one of the only exceptions of the External Advertising Rule is a collaboration between HBA and another amino.

If we allow advertising with other aminos, we ONLY allow collaborations! Meaning if you'd like to your amino here, it would be through a collaboration event, such as this collaboration. If you have an idea on how to collaborate with us, as mentioned above, shoot one of the leaders a pm! :blush: However, please do not ask for any other kinds of advertising!

So who should you to suggest a collab event?

To ask for permission/suggest a collab you can any one of our leaders. You can find our leaders either under the "All " list on the side or at the top of our [Guidelines], which can also be found under the name "Hotel Rules" on the very left of our home page or on the top of our side .
