Spring day was a song recorded for the album "You never walk alone" in 2017, assumed to be a tribute to the South Korean history of the sinking of the Sewol ferry in 2014 killing over 300 people, mostly children that went on a school excursion on it. The song is about grieving over the loss, overcoming it and ing how temporary life is.

You might be thinking why I am bringing this up after so many years, let me tell you. I became a proper army in the mid of 2020.

Spring day and Sea were my refuge, I could resonate with them, still do. And it was probably because of them I became emotionally attached to BTS. I respected the band alot, I laughed watching them, I cried, I learnt many new things, I got to explore myself, I found inspiration, I found comfort and I also found my purpose. I loved it because they spoke on social issues, I felt that anyone who was using their platform right in that industry was them.

Even armys were so ive, encouraging and uplifting. One of the reasons, we were the strongest fandom back then. Right now, whenever I open any social media and come across a kpop post, I always see them fighting in the comment section with another fandom for no reason (not every army). I don't completely blame us but I do believe we can put that strength to other good use and be a better example because in my opinion our idols don't represent kpop as much as we do, the fandom. And when I say that, it's because I have personally experienced it. I recommend any BTS song to my friends who blindly follow the hate train, but when they hear the songs, they appreciate it which says it all. When I ask them why they are so anti, they say "armys are so toxic, I don't want to associate myself with such things" and I completely get the point.

Its our attitude, our behavior which determines the reputation of the artist we follow. I, myself was hesitant to know about bts because I did not want to be a part of the matrix and be looked down upon like others are when they hear that the person likes kpop (in my country).

Back to the main point I wanted to raise today. I hope you all know about the condition of Palestine, the people of Gaza. I hope you know about the genocide that's happening and are not ignorant to that fact because if you are I am very disappointed and don't even want to waste anu words saying anything to you.

The thing is I don't want to associate myself with those who choose silence over speaking up for humanity.

I have been making up excuses to tell myself that bts are in military, they are busy, they have hectic schedules, they might not know what's happening outside, but no! I refuse to silence my conscience because I see their updates, I see their frequent posts, I see them releasing music, I see their stories and till now not one was about Palestinians.

Being silent about a crime is just as much of a crime.

I waited long enough, I hoped for long enough. I unfollowed every artist who didn't speak up, because I believe that when you have the platform, you ĥave the audience, you have the biggest means to make a change, and you know your significance and if you still choose to feign ignorance to the heinous crimes that are happening I cannot follow.

I know this post is going to repel many, you may hate me but my morals and beliefs are stronger than that and I will choose what is right, I am not going to stay silent.

I do ire what bts has done so far, their contribution to the mental well being of a large population but I'm going to stop at that. I am leaving this place, I will come back when they speak for the civilians of Gaza, the starved children, the brave mothers, the proud martyred fathers. I will come when they stand up for the right and not keep silent about such important matters.

To those of the opinion that say they are idols, their job is to sing and dance, not speak about political issues or whatever, you are wrong. Wake up. Don't follow anything so blindly that you compromise your humanity, your righteousness for it, don't question me for leaving, question yourself what you are staying for.

Kpop has become more ignorant than ever, I don't wish to stay in delusion and ignorance.

Also, thank you to those who stand up for Palestine, who contribute to it in whatever way possible, thank you to those who speak about it. I harbour no hard feelings towards anyone here, I am just tired and sad. I want peace for my people, I feel deeply for them so when I leave this place, I do take the memories of all these years that I have spent here and will always cherish them because they play a big part in life, my whole teenage was spent here. I do appreciate bts, but I guess it's the havoc that causes me to want more from them and not just music, because that's what got me into the fandom and I guess it is what's making me leave the fandom.

Sincerest apologises, thank you for everything.

Blaming BTS for not speaking about political issues overlooks their personal reasons and the complexities of the K-pop industry. While it's disappointing, they might face challenges or risks in doing so. Also, fan behavior doesn't define the artists, and being a fan means embracing their message of love and acceptance. Let's BTS positively and understand their choices while promoting unity within the fandom. :sparkles: :blue_heart:
