Mermaid art (Luce from the Lost Voices book series)

So I recently saw the MerMay challenge being posted here. I’m pretty sure I won’t qualify for the challenge part, but I was able to shine up the art I made a few years ago for Instagram, and thought I’d share it here. The lost voices series is by Sarah Porter. It’s a three part book series that is unique for a mermaid story, I’ve never forgotten it or found anything similar since. Its main character Luce definitely ranks amongst my other favorite mermaids, and still comes to mind even years after reading it. I won’t give away too much here, but if you like mermaids and don’t mind a grittier take on them, then Sarah Porter’s series is for you.
