Day 25: Favorite confession scene from anime/manga

Ah love confessions, the moment that we all impatiently wait for in a romance anime. Some love confessions can take up to literal seasons, looking at you Kaguya! Some happen in the middle of a dramatic scene. Or some just happen straight in the first episode. I chose an anime that did that. This anime is one of my favorite romance anime called, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Senpai.

I decided to choose this one because it was one of the first that really stood out to me because it had happened in the first episode. Most romance confessions are normally at the end of a series so it was honestly unexpected.

This confession, again, didn’t have to take an entire season for it to happen. Our main boy meets with the main girl in a sorta unique way at school. The popular star, Mai Sakurajima is found walking around in the library in a bunny suit. Sakuta, our main boy, notices her and they begin to talk. Eventually an acquaintance relationship starts that turns into a romantic one by the end of the first episode. It was pretty much love at first sight in a way.

Sakuta wasn’t your typical main boy taking forever to it his love for our best girl (you read right) Sakurajima Mai. He is a straightforward kind of boy that doesn’t blush or get too nervous about what he is feeling and what is on his mind. So we have a tsundere girl and an honest boy that’s kind of a pervert but only for the girl he likes. Now I want to tell you about how their confession went about.

The Confession

Sakuta and Mai were struggling in keeping their friendship alive due to the supernatural issue of The Puberty Syndrome. If you haven’t seen the anime, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s not a perverted term for something else. Sakuta, not being able to have the chance to tell Mai how he really feels about her, decides to take drastic measures. This would also help Mai be noticed by her classmates. So it was feeding two birds in one feeder. Sakuta blurted as loud as he could outside the school yard that he loved Mai. It was a confession that the whole school got to watch from inside their classrooms.

For me it would be an embarrassing confession so I don’t blame Mai for later slapping Sakuta in the face for being an idiot haha. The fact that Sakuta yelled in front of the entire school to confess his love for Mai says a lot about how much he started to care for her. No misunderstandings or rumors, just straight and honest confession. It was a moment where everyone was watching, but also a little sweet moment for the both of them.
