No mention of Kiku? She's far more fitting, better trans representation imo. I disagree that Yamato was written with that intention by Oda, but I understand why people would think so

She's a very polarizing character, super loved and popular, but at the same time also very commonly disliked with folks who tend to be critical of the story. I'm personally not a fan of her, but not because of the discourse or trans thing (idc about that), I just really dislike the Oden stuff she's got going on, and the fact barely anything about her has been explored, she feels like an OC character to me

Yeah I heard about that too

You can't imagine how relieved I was to see her not becoming a strawhat. Most of the community by then, me included, were very convinced that it would happen by the end of the arc. Ngl, it does feel like a last decision cop-out because of Yamato's decision suddenly flipping after all that build up, with a very rushed "conclusion", if you can even call it that. Which isn't just specific to her, but also to Carrot, and how she was handled in Wano from beginning to end. (So much of that arc was rushed, it's crazy)
Are you saying that this lady on, the right with long white hair is a male? OoO

Also there's the fact this character definetly refers to themselves as a "son" and "man" but some treat it like the fate series where Saber is referred to as a father or king despite definetly identifying as a woman, and that these women only use these words to fit in the world
Tbh this seems like what I'd agree with normally but seeing a trans person's analysis of the idea Yamato is a guy was very compelling

Sounds really complicated :v
Im glad I dropped the series :)

No lol this is more fandom discourse than something the story adresses
based
Well she did think she's oden and I've drew her once in her devil fruit form and normal in one piece amino but it was lost man i had fun drawing her never the less
Nice
Oh rip
(I saw a 10 minute analysis by someone on titkok who had done actual research about this speaking to someone in japan that studies trans people, and it made me root for it)
